The water tower was constructed a 220 ft water well to provide fresh portable water to the colonia. The only water source prior to the construction of the 3,500 gallon holding tank and a 1,000 feet of pipeline. The well services as a primary source of water for 3 of 5 churches and ~600 people daily. Prior to building the well the colonia was served only by contaminiated water from the creek running by the colonia.
